GENERAL INFORMATION:

MINIMUM AGE REQUIREMENT:
Your child must turn 7 years of age on or before April 30th in order to register for the regular Spring season. (Waiverable - contact the Baseball Player Agent for waiver requirements)
FEES: $70.00
The season typically starts in late March and runs through mid June.
GAMES:
Each team plays 12 to 15 games per season.
Games played during the week typically start at 5:30 PM or 6:00 PM.
Games played on Saturday will be scheduled at times ranging from 8 AM to 5 PM.
Game length is typically 1-1/2 hours and can go no longer than two hours, and consist of 6 innings.
PRACTICE:
Practice occurs one weekday and one weekend for three weeks prior to the season with no practices during the season.
UNIFORMS:
TLL provides a T-shirt jersey, pants and cap.
Parents must provide socks and athletic shoes. Rubber cleats are optional.
PLAYING EQUIPMENT:
Parents must provide ball glove and bat. (see our bat size chart for guidance on choosing a bat)
TEAM:
Teams usually consist of 13-15 players, a volunteer manager, two volunteer coaches, and a volunteer team parent.
Anyone expressing interest in managing or coaching should contact the league director.
PHILOSOPHY:
To continue to teach the basic fundamentals of baseball and to have FUN playing a team sport.
VOLUNTEER WORK/FUND RAISING:
TLL is an all volunteer organization. We need everyone’s help! Parents are expected to serve one shift of concession stand duty during the season and to support the TLL Family Fun Day (Carnival-Picture Day).

Q: What speed does the pitching machine throw the ball?
A: The pitching machine is set up to throw balls at approximately 30-35 MPH.
Q: Do you keep score and are there umpires?
A: No score is kept during the game and no standings are kept for the season. Managers and coaches act as the field umpires.
Q: What size field do they play on and where is the field?
A: All games are played on a regulation Little League field with a dirt infield and grass outfield. Field #3. Bases are 60’ apart and the pitcher mound is 46’ from home plate.
Q: Can I have my child play on a team with their friends?
A: Yes. In this age group, since there is no draft, we will do our best to accommodate pairing up of friends.
Q: Can I Manage or coach a team?
A: Yes, if positions are available. Prospective managers must complete an online application in October. If you would to serve a coach please note that on your child's spring registration form. All managers and coaches must be approved by the Tuckahoe Little League Board of Directors.
Q: Will my child get to play all the time?
A: Probably not all of the game, but our rules require the manager to play each child at least 50% of each game.
Q: What are the volunteer requirements?
A: TLL is an all volunteer organization so there are many ways to volunteer. Help is always needed with registration, team parenting, assisting with picture and carnival day activities, helping with post-season tournaments, and working in the concession stand to name just a few of the many ways to help support TLL.
