Majors Baseball Skills Assessments
The following information is for:
(1) all league age 12 year-old players who did not play on a Majors baseball team in the spring of 2022;
(2) all 11 year-old players who did not play on a Majors baseball team in 2022 and are interested in playing Majors this year; and
(3) all 10 year-old players who are interested in playing Majors baseball this year.
Returning Majors baseball players may disregard this email.
TLL's Majors baseball division skills assessment is scheduled to take place on Saturday, February 11th from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. and Wednesday, February 15th from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The skills assessment will take place indoors at the TSI Training Facility. 11- and 12-year-old players are requested to sign up between 12:00-2:00 on Saturday. 10-year-olds interested in trying out for majors are requested to sign up between 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. If possible, we ask you to please attend the tryout this Saturday, the 11th and to use Wednesday as a backup due to available time slots.

Equipment
Please bring a glove and batting helmet. Do not bring a bat or bat bag. A bat will be provided. If your child does not have a glove or helmet one will be provided for the assessment. Players must wear tennis shoes. No cleats are allowed inside TSI.
Registration
Report to the registration table inside TSI before your child’s scheduled assessment time.
Assessment
· Players will line up along the TSI indoor field first base line fence.
· Player will first receive five front toss pitches to hit. Players should swing at every pitch. Players must wear a helmet while hitting.
· After fifth pitch, the player drops the bat and runs from home to second base. Player will receive three ground balls to field and throw to first base from the shortstop position
· Player then receives two fly balls.
