Tuckahoe Little League Majors / AAA Baseball Assessment and Placement Process

In 2017 Tuckahoe Little League implemented a new process for placing players in Majors and AAA (previously Minors) divisions.  It has been very well received and we are continuing to use it each year.  In 2022, the TLL board voted that 10-year olds will only be allowed to play in AAA (previously Minors).  For the assessment process this year:

  • League age 11 and 12 year old players who were on a TLL Majors team for the 2021 Spring season will remain on the same Majors teams and do not need to attend the evaluation.
  •  All other league age 10, 11, and 12 year old players must participate in at least one skills assessment at Tuckahoe Sports, Inc. (TSI) on one of the dates indicated.
    • All 12 year olds will be drafted to a Majors team
    • All 11 year olds will tryout for Majors team and if Not drafted in Majors, they will be drafted to a AAA team
    • All 10 year olds will be drafted to a AAA team
  •  A league age 11 year-old player must attend at least one skills assessment to be eligible for Majors baseball.  Failure to attend will result in placement in AAA.
  • PLEASE NOTE:  Even if your 11 year-old child does not want to play in the Majors, it is imperative that he/she attend at least one assessment.  All of the players will be evaluated by Majors and AAA managers.  Accurate player draft information allows our managers to draft evenly skilled teams.
  •  Majors managers will draft their teams following the skills assessment.  Majors rosters will be final at the conclusion of the draft.  All 12 year-olds will automatically be drafted to a Majors team.
  • Any player not drafted on to a Majors team will be drafted on to a AAA team using the same evaluation information from the Majors assessment.
